Ending My Own Chronic Pain with the Egoscue Method

Decades of Chronic Pain

As a teenager my back would go out if I didn’t strength train regularly. In my 20’s and 30’s a host of ankle, shoulder and elbow injuries kept me seeing a variety of practitioners to remain active and out of pain. 

What frustrated me though, was the adjustments and massages would last several days before I tightened back up and the pain returned. At one point I saw an osteopath, massage therapist and chiropractor every week…and I felt amazing…but it wasn’t sustainable financially.

What I craved was a targeted system to hold me in alignment that I could perform at home between appointments. One that identified exactly what needed to be stretched and what needed to be strengthened instead of guessing.

I wanted a system that gave me the power to fix my own pain anywhere in just a few minutes, without special equipment.

Two years ago I found it!

It all started when several of my clients raved about Lauren Warren, an Egoscue Method practitioner based in Rosendale, NY. They spoke of how she helped reduce their chronic pain the very first meeting and resolved issues with just a handful of sessions. 

I was intrigued.

So, I booked a posture therapy session with Lauren.  Let me tell you, it was a game-changer. After just one session, Lauren equipped me with a simple daily routine that addressed my postural imbalances. And guess what? Walking became a pleasure again! I was eager to continue working with her to tackle the pain in my shoulder and neck…unfortunately, she retired a month later.

But Lauren's impact had been profound. I couldn't shake the feeling that the Egoscue Method held the key to not only my own pain relief but also a whole new way to help my clients. So, I decided to take the plunge and become certified in the Egoscue Method myself.
